
Seth Gabrielsson is an award winning Australian director and composer working in narrative, commercial and visual arts. His approach to filmmaking is typified by its irreverent humor, unconventional visual style and concept driven narratives. His films have been selected for MIFF, SXSW Sydney, Sydney Film Festival and is an alumni of the MIFF Accelerator Lab.
Whilst still a student of Composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, his first experimental films, 'HOODIES', 'Say Hello to Man' and 'Nine White Moons', were awarded Best Student Director at the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles, Best Expressionist Film at RAGFF New York, and Official Selections at NewFilmmakers Program in New York and the Chicago Arthouse Film Festival.
In 2023 Seth was selected as one of fifty international filmmakers to attend PLAYLAB's Creators Lab under the mentorship of Apichatpong Weerasethakul in the Yucatan jungle of Mexico. There he completed 'The Hole' - his sixth short as director.
His first conventional narrative short '5’12” (Five Twelve)', premiered in competition at the Melbourne International Film Festival (2025) in the Accelerator Shorts program, and at SXSW Sydney (2025).
As a composer he has written original music for online content, short and feature length films. His score for the feature documentary ‘Climate Changers’, was completed under residency at Church St. Studios in Sydney, and was selected to compete in competition at the 2023 Sydney Film Festival.
